{"id":6392,"date":"2015-12-22T10:10:03","date_gmt":"2015-12-22T09:10:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.visitloano.it\/?p=6392"},"modified":"2015-12-22T10:10:03","modified_gmt":"2015-12-22T09:10:03","slug":"christmas-eve-among-markets-concerts-and-nativity-scenes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.visitloano.it\/en\/6392\/news\/vigilia-di-natale-tra-mercatini-concerti-e-presepi\/","title":{"rendered":"CHRISTMAS EVE AMONG MARKETS, CONCERTS AND NATIVITY SCENES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>PRESS RELEASE (12\/22\/2015)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The artistic lighting, the Magical Christmas market, concerts and nativity scenes <\/strong>will characterize Christmas Eve in <strong>Loano<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, December 24<\/strong>, in the <strong>San Josemaria Esciv\u00e0 Gardens <\/strong>you can visit the marketplace <strong>Christmas magic<\/strong>, organized by the\u2019<strong>Multipurpose Cultural Center Association of Loano <\/strong>under the auspices of the\u2019<strong>Assessorate <\/strong><strong>to Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the marketplace <strong>Christmas magic<\/strong> visitors will find a wide selection of items related to the festive season: candles, Christmas decorations, cribs and many gift ideas. There will be no shortage of delicacies and drinks typical of the cold season. <strong>Santa Claus <\/strong>will be waiting for children in his little house to take a picture with them and an elf <strong>make-up artist Aida <\/strong>Will play with the little ones.<\/p>\n<p>The marketplace <strong>Christmas magic<\/strong> will open from <strong>3:30 pm <\/strong>at <strong>19.30<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From <strong>4 p.m.<\/strong> in the downtown streets, pre-Christmas shopping will be accompanied by the musical notes of the <strong>Sbanday Street Band<\/strong>, marching band formed within the\u2019<strong>S.M. Immaculata Band Musical Association of Loano<\/strong>, which will involve young and old alike in a traveling musical vortex. The repertoire will range from many traditional Christmas songs from around the world.<\/p>\n<p>At <strong>4:30 pm<\/strong>, in the performance area of the <strong>Christmas Village<\/strong>, will be staged \u201c<strong>Christmas Show<\/strong>\u201d. The concert, curated by Sara Bottero and Cristian Salvati, will feature. <strong>thirty children<\/strong> who will perform <strong>traditional Christmas songs and dances<\/strong>. The choir gathers a good part of the members of the group \u201cThe Children of the Golden Zucchini.\u201d Little guitarist Marta Sciutto will also participate in the performance.<\/p>\n<p>On Christmas Eve one can, then, admire the numerous i <strong>cribs<\/strong> that revive the sacred representation of the Nativity.<\/p>\n<p>The many nativity scenes set up in the city's parishes, chapels and oratories trace a true itinerary to discover the architectural-religious heritage of Loano.<\/p>\n<p>This year's route includes seven stages: the\u2019<strong>Oratory N. S. of the Most Holy Rosary <\/strong>(Italy Square) and the nearby\u00a0 <strong>St. John the Baptist Church<\/strong>, the <strong>St. Mary Immaculate Church <\/strong>(Gazzi Street), the <strong>St. Pius X Church <\/strong>(Via Bergamo),<strong> Oratory St. John the Baptist <\/strong>(Boragine Street), the <strong>Mount Carmel Convent <\/strong>(via Costino Monte Carmelo) and the <strong>Church <\/strong><strong>of St. Augustine and St. Rita <\/strong>(St. Augustine Street). Each reconstruction of the Nativity play is set in a scenic landscape. Alongside the canonical characters of the nativity scene are figures of popular characters and scenes of everyday life.
