There is great anticipation for the sixth edition of the Vibram\u00ae <\/strong>Maremontana<\/strong> - Cencin De Francesco Memorial<\/strong>, trail race that will take place Sunday, March 22, p.m. <\/strong>on the inland trails of Loano.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The event, which since last year has seen Loano<\/strong> as the starting and finishing base for the races, is organized by the newly formed amateur sports club Maremontana ASD <\/strong>under the auspices of the\u2019Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano<\/strong> and the collaboration of partners Balla Coi Cinghiali, CAI Loano, CRI Loano and SMTS Liguria, ARI Loano, ANA Loano, G. S. Loabikers.<\/p>\n

The 2015 edition of the Vibram\u00ae Maremontana<\/strong>provides for the mountain running<\/strong> over two distances 23 km and 49 km with a positive elevation gain of 1,300 and 3,000 meters, respectively. The 49-kilometer race has been included among the qualifying races for registration in the Marguareis Trail. This is an important recognition that will offer great visibility to the competition.<\/p>\n

The organizing committee includes the following. 600 athletes<\/strong> of different nationalities. Those registered include specialists from England, France, Spain, Switzerland, Denmark and Moldova, and of course Italy. The two largest foreign delegations will come from Corsica (25 athletes) and Denmark with 6 athletes from the national trail team. Registration will close on March 19.<\/p>\n

For the less trained, there will be an opportunity to participate in two non-competitive walks over shorter distances: the first on a hilly and scenic 17-km route, the second on an 8-km city route discovering historical monuments and characteristic corners of Loano. In this case, registration will remain open until one hour before the start. The maximum number of registered participants is 300.<\/p>\n

New to this edition will be the extensive program of side events, which will kick off Saturday, March 21<\/strong> with Loano's guided city discovery tour (departure 3:30 p.m., reservations required at\u00a0info@maremontana.it<\/strong><\/a>). Also in the afternoon, on the waterfront, in the Maccagli Garden space, musical entertainment will be offered with DJ set by Reghe \u2018n\u2019 Rolla. From 5 p.m., a Yoga Lesson for athletes will be held in the E. Garassini Sports Hall (reservations required at\u00a0info.yogando@gmail.com<\/a><\/strong>). At 6:30 p.m., the presentation of the Trailrunning Team Vibram 2015. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Sunday, March 22<\/strong>, we will get into the heart of the sporting event with the holding of races. Starting place will be the sports village<\/strong> on the waterfront in Maccagli Garden<\/strong> and the finish is scheduled at the E. Garassini Sports Hall. Athletes engaged in the trail Km 49<\/strong> will leave at 7:00 a.m.<\/strong> and are expected at the finish line between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. Those competing in the trail Km 23 <\/strong>will start at <\/strong>9.00<\/strong> To touch arrival between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Always at <\/strong>9.00 <\/strong>is scheduled to depart for participants in the<\/strong> Fitwalking Cross<\/strong> e <\/strong>Nordicwalking 17 km<\/strong> and to the\u2019<\/strong>Urban Walking 8 km.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Sports Village will be animated from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. by the DJ set by DJ Keller.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The award ceremonies will be held, also in Maccagli Garden, on the waterfront, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

Vibram\u00ae Maremontana<\/strong> participates as a column race at the Short Circuit Solidarity 2015<\/strong> organized by I Run for Find The Cure<\/strong>, pledging to support the project of building a hostel for girls in Msolwa Ujamaa in Tanzania.
