La pellicola \u00e8 ambientata nel mondo del circo, che ha tra le sue attrazioni esseri bizzarri e deformi.<\/p>\n<p>Love affairs arise among the performers. The dwarf Hans is in love with the beautiful Cleopatra, a comely woman who works in the circus as a trapeze artist. But the woman is only interested in Hans's money and plans with her lover, the circus strongman Hercules, to kill him to enjoy his inheritance.<\/p>\n<p>From here the story develops. Hans's fianc\u00e9e Frieda, who also suffers from achondroplasia, warns him about Cleopatra because she distrusts her. Nevertheless, it comes to the marriage between Hans and Cleopatra, who continues to entertain her relationship with Hercules. From that time on, Cleopatra repeatedly attempts to poison Hans in order to grab her inheritance, but failing to do so, she is discovered by the other freaks who decide to take revenge on her and Hercules: on a rainy night, the freaks attack the two lovers, and turn on them armed with knives, killing Hercules and mutilating Cleopatra. Some time later, what happened to the unfortunate woman is shown. Now she, too, is presented by the cruel circus owners as the \u201cchicken woman\u201d and subjected to public ridicule.
