Major composers of that period wrote works specifically intended for the harpsichord as a solo instrument.

The evening's program will include performances of pieces by François Couperin, Antoine Forqueray and Domenico Scarlatti.

Marco Gaggini began studying piano at the age of nine. In 1995 he was admitted to Niccolò Parente's class and later to Carlo Mascheroni's class at the Conservatorio “Guido Cantelli” in Novara. He won in the years 1999 and 2000 two scholarships to attend international master classes taught by masters Gloria Gili and Pier Narciso Masi, with whom he will continue his teaching path. On the occasion of one of these Master Classes he obtained one of the prize concerts offered to the best students, a concert that he held for the review “Piemonte in Musica” accompanied by excellent consensus of public and critics. Thus began a considerable concert activity in Italy for important seasons and festivals, both as a soloist and in various chamber ensembles.

In 2004 he received his diploma in piano with highest honors from the Conservatorio “Guido Cantelli” in Novara. He attended master classes taught by Pier Narciso Masi for more than five years.

In 2005 he was admitted to Danilo Costantini's harpsichord class at the Conservatorio “Giuseppe Verdi” in Milan. As a harpsichordist he gives recitals, among others, at the Milan Triennale (2006). In 2009 he was awarded a special mention at the National Arts Award. In September 2009 he graduated in harpsichord at the Conservatorio “Giuseppe Verdi” in Milan with highest honors. Fundamental to his harpsichord training was his meeting with Christophe Rousset, with whom he specialized in Paris.

He completed his musical training by graduating with honors in Musicology from the Faculty of Cremona with a thesis on Brahms“ symphonies in versions for two pianos. Since 2007 he has been playing in a duo with Florentine pianist Matteo Fossi, with whom he has undertaken an intense study and research of the repertoire for two pianos. In February 2009 the duo's first record was released, published by the record company ”Fenice D.M.," which was immediately received with unanimous acclaim by the national press. In 2010 the duo recorded the world premiere of the complete Brahms Symphonies in versions for two pianos published by the label Universal. He records for Phoenix DM, Universal, Decca and Brilliant Classics.{:}

{:en} PRESS RELEASE (09/19/2013) On Sunday, Sept. 22, Loano in the Oratory N.S. of the Most Holy Rosary will host a new event of the musical review “The Concerts of the Turchins - The Music of the Soul,” promoted...

[1

0":"post-2109","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-news
["GET
