It is awarded annually in 48 countries around the world that meet criteria related to sustainable land management. The campaign is overseen in the various countries by the Fee, Foundation for Environmental Education. The parameters on the basis of which the Blue Flag is awarded are many: bathing water quality, wastewater purification, environmental certification, waste management, accessibility at beaches, environmental education and communication, and sustainability initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>This morning, Mayor Luigi Pignocca traveled to Rome to collect the banner: \u201cFor the tenth consecutive year, the beaches of Loano are confirmed among the best in Europe,\u201d explained the first citizen of Loano. \u201dThe Fee has once again rewarded the quality of our marine waters and the excellence of the services offered by our bathing establishments. Having once again obtained the Blue Flag certifies for the umpteenth time the goodness of the initiatives that our administration has put in place to improve the impact that human activities have on the marine environment and the awareness campaigns aimed at residents and tourists. The Blue Flag is an internationally known award,\" the mayor of Loano adds further, \"This means that any tourist coming on vacation to Loano, whether compatriot or foreigner, will immediately know that our coastline offers quality bathing levels and the establishments first-rate services. I want to thank the technical office and the environment office for their excellent work in preparing the documentation and applications.\" \".<\/p>\n<p>Not only Loano's beaches have been awarded the Blue Flag: in fact, for the seventh year, Marina di Loano has also received the Fee's recognition for tourist landings.<\/p>\n<p>As for ports, the Blue Flag is awarded annually based on several criteria: the waters of the harbor and those bordering the harbor must be visually unpolluted; sewers do not spill into the harbor; there are facilities for collecting oil, paint and chemical residues; life preservers and first-aid equipment are provided; environmental and Blue Flag campaign information provided by management is available; there is provision for disposal of bilge water and boat toilets; arrangements for disposal of shipyard processing residues are covered; lights and drinking water are available on the docks.<\/p>\n<p>Marina di Loano is endowed with these and other features and therefore, as has happened seven times since 2012, this year the marina resort was awarded the Blue Flag for marinas. \u201cOver the years,\u2019 Pignocca further notes, \u2018Marina di Loano has won numerous awards. It has been listed as one of the ten most beautiful marinas in the world by the magazine \u2019Yachting Pages,\u2018 obtained from Rina the MaRINA Excellence 24 Plus certification, the \u20195 Rudders\u2019 and \u201950 Gold\u2018 for the quality of infrastructure and services to boaters. In the environmental field it obtained, first in Italy, RINA's \u2019Green\u201d certification for environmental sustainability. The Blue Flag is an internationally known recognition and this means that people who choose Loano as their holiday destination will immediately know that our coast offers high quality standards for sea water and beach resorts offer first-rate services.\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Not only the beaches of Loano have been awarded the Blue Flag. For the seventh year, in fact, Marina di Loano has also been awarded the Fee for tourist landing places.<\/p>\n<p>As for ports, the Blue Flag is awarded every year on the basis of different criteria: the waters of the port and those facing it must not be visually polluted, sewers should not spill into the port, there must be the possibility for collection and disposal of oil, paints and chemicals, the port must be equipped with life jackets and first aid equipment, there must be lights, drinking water and toilets available on the docks.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years Marina di Loano has obtained numerous awards. It has been indicated as one of the ten most beautiful marinas in the world by the \u2018Yachting Pages\u2019 magazine, it has obtained MaRINA Excellence 24 Plus certification, the \u20185 Rudders\u2019 and \u201950 Gold\u2019 for the quality of the infrastructure and services from Rina to boaters.
