{:en}The awards ceremony of the 32nd edition of \u201cArchitects in the Grass,\u201d the sand building competition promoted by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Municipality of Loano in cooperation with the Loano Marine Baths Syndicate and the Ati Loano Association of Equipped Free Beaches, was held last night at the Loano Prince's Garden summer arena.<\/p>\n
As usual, the protagonists of the initiative were the children, who for one day turned into little architects trying their hand at creating imaginative and elaborate sand constructions. The sculptures were made inside the bathing establishments that joined the initiative. For their works, the young \u201cArchitects in the Grass\u201d were allowed to use only natural materials found on the beach: sand, water, stones, shells and seaweed. The working tools, however, were shovels, buckets and, of course, a lot of imagination.<\/p>\n
This year's event was again well attended: \u201cThe 297 children who entered the contest,\u2018 explain Loano Mayor Luigi Pignocca and Tourism Councillor Remo Zaccaria, \u2019once again demonstrate the success enjoyed by this event, which aims to stimulate children's creativity and foster a moment of aggregation with peers and parents at the beach. Nineteen bathing establishments on our coast joined this 32nd edition, in which 49 sand works were created. All numbers, these, which confirm that \u201dArchitects in the Grass' is one of the most anticipated events of the Loano summer for families. This year, then, we received a visit from a TgCom Ragazzi crew, which throughout the day on Tuesday documented the work of the young participants in the competition and the jury.\".<\/p>\n\n
This year, the \u201cArchitects in Grass\u201d competition was included in the framework of \u201cA Liguria Above the Rows,\u201d the new campaign launched by the Region of Liguria for the summer of 2018, which aims to tell the story of the beauty of our territory through the creation of several colorful itineraries that will pass through its most fascinating and interesting sights. The goal is to present the reasons for \u201cpride\u201d of each location that took part in the initiative. The children, therefore, were asked to make sand sculptures on the theme of \u201cPride Loano.\u201d.<\/p>\n
The winners of the 2018 edition of \u201cArchitects on the Grass\u201d were announced at last night's event organized by Dimensione Eventi (under the artistic direction of Ivan Fabio Perna) and animated by Genoa's Teatro Scalzo. The jury awarded first prize to Bagni Sirena for the work \u201cFrom the Mountain to the Sea.\u201d Second place went to Bagni Sole Mare with \u201cThe Lighthouse.\u201d In third place was the Piccola Opera with \u201cLa piazza del comune.\u201d In fourth place was Bagni Nadia with \u201cIn Liguria... Holiday 10 and praise.\u201d Fifth place for Bagni Ondina with \u201cPostcard from Loano.\u201d In sixth place was Bagni Ippocampo with the work \u201cIppocampo.\u201d In seventh place was Bagni Doria with \u201cThe Castle.\u201d In eighth place the Marina Beach with \u201cLa loggetta.\u201d Ninth place to Bagni Virginia with \u201cThe Aquarium of Genoa.\u201d In tenth place the Bagni Delfino with the work \u201cNo Plastic.\u201d.<\/p>\n
