Loano E. Garassini Basketball, with the holiday season just around the corner, wanted to organize a charity event within a sporting event, with the goal of giving a smile to less fortunate children.
\nDuring the D Regional Championship game between Loano Basketball and Asd Valpetronio Basket, scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Loano's Garassini Sports Hall, the audience in attendance will throw stuffed teddy bears on the parquet at the end of the first half from
\ndonate to children in the Oncology and Hematology Department of the Gaslini Institute in Genoa.
\nThese soft toys will be retrieved from the athletes on the court and later delivered by a delegation from Basketball Loano to the Genovese Hospital on the pre-Christmas weekend.
\nThe gesture of throwing the teddy bear in the context of a basketball game stands to signify that sports should not only be aimed at competitive competition but also meant to be a time of solidarity and reflection.
