Gioved\u00ec 27 luglio<\/strong>, a Loano<\/strong>, proseguir\u00e0 la tredicesima edizione del City of Loano National Award for Italian Traditional Music<\/strong>, organized by the\u2019Society of the Curious Association <\/strong>in collaboration with the\u2019Department of Tourism and Culture of the City of Loano<\/strong>, under the artistic direction of John Vignola<\/strong>, the contribution of the A. Foundation De Mari<\/strong> and the sponsorship of the\u2019ANCI<\/strong> and of the Liguria Region<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cTraveling<\/strong>\u201d\u00a0\u00e8 il titolo di questa edizione del festival, dove il viaggio \u00e8 quello della tradizione e dell’accoglienza.<\/p>\n

E di viaggio, emigrazione e musica si parler\u00e0 nel pomeriggio alle ore 18.00 nei Nassiriya Fallen Gardens <\/strong>with guests from the Meet Award<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Protagonists will be The Mancuso Brothers<\/strong>. A Lorenzo <\/strong>and Enzo <\/strong>\u00e8 stato assegnato il 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award. <\/strong>Cantanti, compositori e polistrumentisti, i fratelli Mancuso hanno sempre cantato della Sicilia e delle sue tradizioni. Nati a Sutera ed emigrati a Londra sono poi ritornati in Italia negli anni \u201980 e si sono stabiliti in Umbria a Citt\u00e0 della Pieve. Hanno iniziato ad esibirsi proprio in quel periodo, riscuotendo successo sia in Italia che all\u2019estero. Negli anni si sono aggiudicati il Premio citt\u00e0 di Recanati e il Premio Rosa Balistreri e hanno preso parte a numerosi film e spettacoli teatrali.<\/p>\n

In the meeting led by music journalist Enrico de Angelis <\/strong>the two musicians will retrace the most significant stages of their artistic careers.<\/p>\n

The Lifetime Achievement Award<\/strong> ai Fratelli Mancuso sar\u00e0 consegnato alle 9:30 pm<\/strong>, in the\u2019Prince's Garden Summer Arena<\/strong> con la seguente motivazione: \u201cThe Sicilian tradition, understood as an open treasure chest mixed with the Mancuso Brothers' personal, biographical travels and experiences, has made them a unique musical and cultural element in safeguarding and making popular music ever more alive in Italy. <\/em><\/p>\n

In their long history, in the midst of awards and important collaborations, participation in concerts, soundtracks, and highly relevant outreach and teaching projects, the sense of belonging always stands out, not only insular, but above all human, to a history that makes travel an essential element and roots the necessary component for moving forward.\u201d. <\/em><\/p>\n

Immediately afterwards, also on the stage of the Prince's Garden<\/strong>, \u00a0il \u00a0viaggio proseguir\u00e0 con i sounds from the border cities of the Mediterranean <\/strong>told by the show \u201cSoundcity<\/strong>\u201d of Stefano Saletti & Ikona Band<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Compagni di viaggio di Saletti, polistrumentista gi\u00e0 fondatore dei Novalia che suona oud, bouzouki, saz baglama, chitarra saranno i musicisti che da dieci anni fanno parte della Banda Ikona: Barbara Eramo<\/strong> (voice), Mario Rivera<\/strong> (low), John Lo Cascio<\/strong> (percussion and drums), Charles Cossu<\/strong> (violin), Arnaldo Vacca<\/strong> (percussion) and some of the musicians who collaborated on the project: Nando Citarella<\/strong> (voice and tammorra), Alessandro D'Alessandro<\/strong> (accordion), Gabriella Aiello<\/strong> (voice), Yasemin Sannino<\/strong> (voice), Pejman Tadayon<\/strong> (ney, daf).<\/p>\n

The musician Stefano Saletti<\/strong> traveled with his music from Lampedusa to Istanbul, from Tangier to Lisbon to Jaffa, Sarajevo and Ventotene, and in these places he recorded sounds, noises,<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

radio, voci, spazi sonori. Partendo da tutto questo materiale ha composto un affresco sonoro che racconta il difficile dialogo tra le sponde nord e sud, i drammi dei migranti, la ricchezza, le speranze, il dolore che attraversano le strade del Mediterraneo. In questo racconto in musica ha utilizzato il sabir, la lingua del mare, dei porti, dei pescatori e dei marinai del Mediterraneo, la lingua del possibile dialogo, che unisce italiano, francese, spagnolo e arabo in un unico flusso sonoro. Il risultato \u00e8 un affascinante folk world-mediterraneo, meticciato, una miscela ricca di ritmi e melodie, suggestioni e colori.<\/p>\n

La vita diventa musica, i rumori della realt\u00e0 si trasformano in melodie e ritmi. Le strade del Mediterraneo risuonano di echi lontani e presenti e ci ricordano che da sempre sono tutte collegate: per mare e per terra.<\/p>\n

Saletti e gli altri componenti della Banda Ikona effettuano da anni in Italia e all\u2019estero anche workshop e seminari sulla lingua Sabir, sulle tecniche esecutive degli strumenti a corda e percussione, sulle tecniche vocali, sulle contaminazioni, influenze e specificit\u00e0 dei tanti stili musicali del Mediterraneo.<\/p>\n
