Tuesday, July 25, a Loano, in the’Oratory of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary (Turchini), at 21.15 will take place the organ concert by Stefania Mettadelli.
The evening, sponsored by the’Department of Tourism and Culture of the City of Loano and organized by the Brotherhood of the Turks' Chapels, fits into the program of the 19th International Organ Festival, organized by the’Rapallo Music Association.
Stefania Mettadelli will play the ancient organ “Nicomede Agati” (1850), restored and preserved in the oratory, performing a wide repertoire of sacred music ranging from composers Alessandro Scarlatti (1660-1725), John Morandi (1777-1856), Louis J. A. Lefébure-Wély (1817-1869), Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767), Georg Friedrich Händel (1685-1759), Giuseppe Gherardeschi (1759-1815), Domenico Cimarosa (1749-1801), Giuseppe Sarti (1729-1802), Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741), Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901), Father Davide from Bergamo (1791-1863).
Stefania Mettadelli yes graduated in Pianoforte from the Istituto Musicale “Luigi Boccherini” in Lucca under the guidance of pianist Francesca Costa and graduated in Organ with highest honors, cum laude and special mention (master's thesis “The Lipsian triptych ‘Allein Gott in der Höh sei Ehr’ by Johann Sebastian Bach: the harmony of meanings in music”) under the guidance of M. Mario Verdicchio at the Conservatorio “Arrigo Boito” in Parma.
He has attended seminars, courses and master classes in organ interpretation given by M. Radulescu, L. Ghielmi, H. Metzger, L.F. Tagliavini, K. Schnorr, J.W. Jansen, F. Cera, T. Koopman, M. Henking, S.I. Mikkelsen. He performs concert activities in Italy and abroad (Austria - “Salzburg Organ Festival,” “Liszt, the Progressive 2011”/Eisenstadt; Germany - “Fürstenfelder Orgelmatineen”/Munich, “OrgelMatinee um Zwölf” and “SamstagOrgel in Münster”/Ingolstadt; Spain - International Review of the “Semana de musica religiosa” of Aviles/Asturias; France - “Festival Jean) both as a soloist and in various chamber groups, choral and orchestral ensembles.
He performed as soloist Haendel's Concertos for organ and orchestra with the Young Spanish Orchestra “Julian Orbon,” the Parma Baroque Ensemble and the Chamber Orchestra of Georgia. As part of the initiatives related to the 9th centenary of Parma Cathedral, he joined the Duke Ellington Trio in the realization of the “Claudio Merulo in Jazz” project, an original reworking in a modern key, for saxophone trio and organ, of the famous composer's organ pages. Parallel to her teaching activity as a teacher of Music Education, she has collaborated with the Conservatory of Music “A. Boito” in Parma both as an assistant professor of organ and as accompanist of the flute class; in the academic year 2013-2014 she also supervised the Institute Project “The repertoire for baroque trumpets and organ” at the Conservatory “G. Puccini” in La Spezia. She is regularly invited to give lectures-concerts and conferences on organ literature at various musical institutions; of particular note is her participation as a speaker in the Erasmus project at the “Joseph Haydn” Conservatory in Eisenstadt.
She won the I National Organ Competition “Città di Pescia” and the “2009 National Arts Award,” announced by the Ministry of Education, University and Research; in the year 2010 she was awarded the Zonta Club International scholarship.
He is artistic director of the Music Association “Notti di Note,” which operates in the Province of Massa-Carrara for the realization and promotion of festivals and concert reviews.
He has worked as organist in the Diocese of Massa Carrara-Pontremoli since 1993; he is currently the titular organist of the Church of San Sebastiano in Massa.{:}
