L\u2019<strong>Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano <\/strong>has prepared a full calendar of events to accompany the festive days.<\/p>\n<p>On the program will be <strong>concerts, book presentations, Christmas markets, family initiatives, nativity scenes, sporting events. <\/strong>Also confirmed is the traditional <strong>winter sea dive<\/strong> and the spectacular <strong>fireworks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>New this year will be the <strong>New Year's Eve in the Square<\/strong>, a great end-of-year show in the company of the host of <strong>Radio<\/strong> <strong>Deejay<\/strong><strong> Mauro Miclini, DJ Cugi and Italian rapper ENSI.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The<strong> Dec. 5, Loano<\/strong> will turn on the<strong>A Thousand Lights of the Holidays<\/strong>. The party will involve at <strong>14.00, <\/strong>in <strong>Italy Square, <\/strong>the pupils of the\u2019<strong>Comprehensive Institute Loano-Boissano<\/strong>who will perform a concert of Christmas carols. At <strong>16.00<\/strong> will be opened the exhibition<strong> \u201cThe Tree House.\u201d <\/strong>in favor of the\u2019<strong>G. Gaslini Pediatric Institute of Genoa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>From <strong>16.30<\/strong>, animating the afternoon will be <strong>The Association \u201cU Gunbu de L\u00f6a\u201d<\/strong> who will present a wide repertoire of traditional Christmas folk songs.<\/p>\n<p>At <strong>17<\/strong><strong>.30<\/strong>, the lighting of the big Christmas tree in <strong>Italy Square<\/strong> Will give the signal to turn on the artistic illuminations. A warm Christmas atmosphere will envelop Loano. Lights will draw the contours of the most beautiful corners and Christmas decorations will festively dress the city.<\/p>\n<p>Also creating the festive atmosphere will be the <strong>\u201c<\/strong><strong>Christmas Village<\/strong><strong>\u201d<\/strong>in the <strong>San Josemaria Escriv\u00e0 Gardens<\/strong>, set up by the Multipurpose Cultural Center Association of Loano. Many<strong> small chalets<\/strong> in the heart of the city will recall the atmosphere of markets in northern European countries. The marketplace <strong>Christmas magic<\/strong> will offer visitors a wide selection of items related to the festive season. There will be no shortage of delicacies and drinks typical of the cold season. The market will open from <strong>3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.<\/strong>, the <strong>December 5, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 <\/strong>and from the <strong>Dec. 20 to Jan. 6<\/strong>, every day except Dec. 25. The gardens will be adorned with a fairy-tale setting. Cold crystals will descend from the large cedars, and plays of lights and saplings will compose a <strong>winter garden. <\/strong>There will be the<strong> Santa's little house, <\/strong>where children will be able to <strong>mail their little letters,<\/strong> and an elf <strong>make-up artist <\/strong>for younger children. In addition, the <strong>December 7, 21, 28 <\/strong>initiative will take place <strong>Christmas Circus<\/strong>, circus arts workshop with the group <strong>Uncertain Circus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Two initiatives that have won an important place in Loano's cultural programming will be intertwined during the holiday season<strong>Books under the tree<\/strong><strong> e <\/strong><strong>Loano for Culture<\/strong><strong>. <\/strong>In the <strong>Civic Library<\/strong>, the <strong>December 6<\/strong> at <strong>16.00<\/strong>, in collaboration with the\u2019<strong>Dopodomani Onlus Association, Giorgio Genta<\/strong> will present the book <strong>\u201cHappy Life of the Bengalin and its Colorful Crew.\u201d. <\/strong>The <strong>December 14<\/strong>, always at <strong>16.00, <\/strong>A taste of white cuisine will be offered with the book <strong>\u201cWhite ash, the power of small things in the work of a community. A journey into white cooking with the Municipality of Mendatica.\u201d <\/strong>and with a small tasting. The <strong>December 21<\/strong>, to the <strong>16.00<\/strong>, will be presented the book <strong>\u201cOn the other side\u201d <\/strong>by the journalististaloanese<strong> Luca Berto, <\/strong>published by the<strong> Municipality of Loano. <\/strong>The <strong>December 27<\/strong> at<strong> 15,30 <\/strong>It will be the turn of the narrative testimony <strong>\u201cThe Night Before the End\u201d<\/strong> of the musician <strong>Vittorio Attanasio<\/strong> and the <strong>January 4 <\/strong>The appointment with the <strong>Poems in music.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Conducting the meetings will be the curator of the review<strong>Graziella Frasca Gallo<\/strong> Of the Journal of Loano. Musical and singing accompaniment will be provided by the <strong>Master Roberto Sinito.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The meeting with the authors will continue on <strong>December 7<\/strong>, to the <strong>16<\/strong>,in the<strong> Council Chamber,<\/strong> in collaboration with the <strong>Pro Loco Loano <\/strong>who invited <strong>Nice Plain<\/strong> to present his book of fairy tales <strong>\u201cFelicino the Donkey...and Other Fairy Tales.\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>December 19 <\/strong>at<strong> 17<\/strong> in <strong>Library<\/strong>, <strong>Christian Bosco<\/strong> will dialogue with journalist <strong>Marco Fantasia <\/strong>author of the book<strong> \u201cA Smiling History - The Rai of Genoa told from its origins.\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, in collaboration with the\u2019<strong>UNITRE of Loano<\/strong>, the <strong>December 13<\/strong>, at 4 p.m. in the Council Chamber, Vice Mayor. <strong>Remo Zaccaria<\/strong> will present the <strong>\u201cThe Restoration of St. Sebastian\u201d project\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>December 7<\/strong> will kick off the review <strong>\u201c<\/strong><strong>Heavenly music<\/strong><strong>\u201d<\/strong>, a program of concerts of sacred and Christmas music in the churches of Loano. Protagonist of the opening night, which will take place at <strong>21.00<\/strong> at <strong>St. Mary Immaculate Parish<\/strong>, it will be <strong>Paola Arecco<\/strong> (piano). The review will continue on <strong>December 13<\/strong> in St. Pius X Parish, where to perform, at the <strong>21.00<\/strong>, will be the trio consisting of <strong>Claudia Murachelli<\/strong> (soprano voice), <strong>Gianni Gollo<\/strong> (transverse flute) and <strong>Paola Arecco<\/strong> (piano). The <strong>December 20<\/strong> the <strong>Celestial Music<\/strong> will move into the <strong>Parish of St. Augustine and St. Rita<\/strong>. Here at <strong>21.00<\/strong> will take place the concert of the formation <strong>Briozzo Duet<\/strong> (Melissa and Simona Briozzo). Finally, the <strong>December 26<\/strong>, to the <strong>4:30 pm<\/strong> at <strong>Mount Carmel Convent,<\/strong> will perform the duo consisting of <strong>Alessia Privitera<\/strong>, flute, and <strong>Gianpaolo Minuti<\/strong>, piano.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019<strong>Oratory <\/strong><strong>Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary<\/strong>, will host three concerts of the review. The <strong>December 27 <\/strong>at <strong>5 p.m.<\/strong>, <strong>Magic Horn Ensemble<\/strong> will perform the <strong>Christmas Concert<\/strong> which will close the 2014 edition of<strong> \u201cThe Concerts of the Turks - <\/strong><strong>\u00a0The Musics of the Soul.\u201d<\/strong>. The <strong>January 3<\/strong>, as part of \u201dThe Concerts of St. Torpete\u201d the Friends of the Organ Music Association and the St. Ambrose Music Association will present at the<strong> 18.00 <\/strong>the organ concert by <strong>Silva Manfr\u00e8<\/strong>. The <strong>January 5<\/strong>, finally,will take place at<strong> 21.00 <\/strong>the concert of the\u2019<strong>Loanese Music Association. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Completing the program of the review will be \u201c<strong>Celestial Music<\/strong>\u201d the concert of the\u2019<strong>Loanese Music Association<\/strong>,in memory of Matteo Vadori,<strong> \u201cSoundtracks and Christmas Music.\u201d<\/strong>,scheduled on <strong>Dec. 27, <\/strong>at<strong> 20.00 <\/strong>in<strong> Council Chamber.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La\u00a0<strong>music<\/strong> will also resonate in city squares and streets. Two dates with youth bands. The <strong>December 20<\/strong> and the <strong>January 4<\/strong>, in <strong>fortress square<\/strong> 4 p.m, <strong>YEPP Loano<\/strong> will initiate two concerts featuring young musical groups from the area.<\/p>\n<p>Wandering music will enliven the streets of downtown on the <strong>24 <\/strong>and the <strong>December 31<\/strong> from <strong>4 p.m.<\/strong>. Protagonist will be the<strong>Sbanday Street Band<\/strong>,marching band born within<strong> of the Loanese Music Association<\/strong>, who will perform traditional Christmas songs from around the world on the first date and a repertoire of festive songs on the afternoon of the last day of the year to announce the <strong>New Year's Eve in the square<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The musical evening in anticipation of the new year will kick off at <strong>22.00 <\/strong>and will continue until the <strong>2<\/strong>.  Opening the show will be the <strong>DJ Cugi<\/strong>, then it will be the turn of <strong>Mauro Miclini,<\/strong> music column and<\/p>\n<p>longtime Radio Deejay host. Miclini is among the most respected Italian DJs. Since 1996 he has been responsible for the selection and mixing of the \u201cHit Mania Dance\u201d compilations, which have repeatedly reached the top positions in the Italian sales charts. Currently on Radio Deejay he signs Sunday Morning, an all-music program aired on Sunday mornings.<\/p>\n<p>Next, the rapper from Turin will take the stage. <strong>ENSI <\/strong>who will present \u201cRock Steady,\u201d his latest record released by Warner. Jari Vella, aka ENSI, started singing rhymes together with his brother Raige and friend Rayden and founded Onemic with them. He quickly made a name for himself in the Piedmont hip hop scene and released two independent albums. He is currently the host of \u201cOne Two One Two\u201d on Radio Deejay. After ENSI's performance, dancing will continue with the <strong>DJ Cugi. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>first<\/strong> <strong>January<\/strong> <strong>Waiting for the fires<\/strong>, at 4 p.m. on the Harbour Quay, a concert will be held by the duo <strong>Bittersweet<\/strong> who will perform a repertoire of Italian and foreign pop music covers. At <strong>18.00<\/strong> at <strong>Kursaal Pier<\/strong>, will stage the spectacular<strong>fireworks.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In <\/strong><strong>Rocca Square, <\/strong><strong>at <\/strong><strong>4 p.m.<\/strong><strong>, the<\/strong><strong> January 3 <\/strong><strong>you will be able to appreciate the <\/strong><strong>rhythm and blues <\/strong>of <strong>No Trouble Soul <\/strong>with the voice of<strong>Arya Delgado<\/strong> and the <strong>January 6 <\/strong>the folk group <strong>\u201cU Gunbu de L\u00f6a- Verzi.\u201d <\/strong>with Christmas songs, Ligurian dialect songs, along with some of the best-known traditional Italian folk songs.<\/p>\n<p>Returning over the Christmas holidays will be the <strong>Tales of Winter<\/strong>, organized by the\u2019<strong>Society of the Curious Association<\/strong> as part of the tenth edition of the <strong>City of Loano National Award for Italian Traditional Music<\/strong>. The <strong>December 28<\/strong> i <strong>players of the Occitan Valleys<\/strong> along with <strong>Sergio Berardo<\/strong> and the group <strong>La Quim\u00e8ra<\/strong> will give life from the <strong>4 p.m,<\/strong> in the streets of the historic center, at the <strong>Occitan festival<\/strong> with <strong>grand ball in Italy Square<\/strong>.  The <strong>January 2<\/strong> at <strong>21.15<\/strong>, in the <strong>Civic Library<\/strong> will take place the presentation-concert of the album <strong>\u201cGrowing up\u201d <\/strong>of <strong>Duo Bottasso<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>December 29 and 30<\/strong>, <strong>Loano rages for artists in the square<\/strong>will offer residents and tourists two days dedicated to \u201cstreet theater.\u201d The streets and squares of the historic center will be enlivened by colorful parades of performers, a circus workshop and performances by stilt-walkers, tightrope walkers and jugglers.<\/p>\n<p>I <strong>Christmas markets<\/strong> will enliven the city throughout the holiday season. At the \u201c<strong>Christmas Magics\u201d <\/strong>will be added <strong>Crafts in the Square<\/strong> e<strong> the Antiques and Collectibles Market, <\/strong>which will take place, as always, on the second Sunday of each month,under the arcades of <strong>Corso Europa.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dec. 28, <\/strong>from<strong> 10 a.m, <\/strong>in the<strong> Neptune Baths, <\/strong>the<strong> XXVIII^ <\/strong>edition of the<strong>Winter Swimming Tournament<\/strong>. In the stretch of water in front of the Neptune Baths, avid swimmers will put themselves to the test by tackling the traditional end-of-year \u201cplunge into the sea.\u201d The party by the sea will be accompanied by the music and entertainment of <strong>Luca Valentini<\/strong> by <strong>Radio Wave<\/strong><strong>Ligurian.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The calendar of events will, in addition, be enriched by the outings of <strong>Loano not only sea <\/strong>and from the<strong> \u201cThe Tree House, Save Little Blue's Dreams\u201d exhibition.\u201d<\/strong>,in favor of the\u2019<strong>Gaslini Pediatric Institute of Genoa <\/strong>which will remain set up in<strong> Doria Palace <\/strong>from <strong>\u00a0Dec. 5 to Jan. 8.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lo\u00a0<strong>sports<\/strong> will enliven Loano's Christmas with numerous events: the <strong>December 6 <\/strong>will take place the\u2019<strong>International Fight Show - Mimmo Polizzano Memorial<\/strong> organized by A.S.D. Team Polizzano Perlungher, the <strong>December 7<\/strong> will be the turn of the <strong>Basketball Tournament \u201cMaster E. Garassini\u201d <\/strong>Promoted by A.S.D. Basketball \u201cM.\u00b0 E. Garassini,\u201d the <strong>December 13<\/strong> and the <strong>January 17<\/strong> the Garassini Sports Hall will host the <strong>Italian Series A Football Championship for Deaf and Dumb Athletes <\/strong>organized by<strong> Loano Together<\/strong>,and infinedal <strong>27 <\/strong>at<strong> December 30<\/strong> A.S.D.
