PRESS RELEASE <\/strong>(14\/07\/2014)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tuesday, July 15<\/strong>, a Loano,<\/strong> at 9:30 pm<\/strong>, in the\u2019Prince's Garden Summer Arena<\/strong>, a ceremony will be held to award the City of Loano Award \u201cTrash Film! Laughing Italian Style.\u201d<\/strong>, promoted by the\u2019Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano <\/strong>and organized by the I.So, <\/strong>with the artistic direction of Paolo Borio.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Receiving the award will be Alvaro Vitali<\/strong>, the comedian who made Italy smile by giving a face to the most famous joke character \u201cPierino.\u201d.<\/p>\n

In recent days, some of the characters played byAlvaro Vitali during his artistic career were featured in the film festival \u201cTrash We Were There,\u201d which was staged at the Prince's Garden.<\/p>\n

The prize was awarded by the organizers with the following motivation:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cFor having characterized with his presence a particular period of Italian cinema, managing to create with his face, with his gaze and with his unmistakable laughter, a funny popular mask capable of giving voice to the instinctual and simple part of all of us. A versatile actor, he has worked with the great masters of cinema, always maintaining those characteristics of spontaneity, vitality and sympathy that still interest and entertain a wide audience. Among the symbolic performers of Italian trash, he became over time an authentic myth and his films true cults.\u201d<\/p>\n

He writes about himself, \u201cI was born in the heart of Rome (Trastevere) on February 3, 1950... my film debut took place with small appearances in some films by Federico Fellini, who loved to use interpreters taken from the street for his films. My first appearance was in \u201cSatyricon\u201d which was followed by appearances in \u201cThe Clowns'\u201d \u201cRoma \u201d and \u201cAmarcord.\u201d.<\/p>\n

I owe a lot of my success I think to the sympathy I inspire because of my appearance, short with a sympathetic face boo...!!!!! what about you?
\nMy debut in the sexy comedy genre came with \u201cL\u2019 insegnante \u201d by Nando Cicero followed by \u201cClasse mista\u201d by Mariano Laurenti. In these films I think I showed off my mimicry gift then widely used in all my later films.
\nAfter the success of these films came comedies set in schools, I remember \u201cThe High School Girl,\u201d \u201cThe Natural Science Teacher,\u201d \u201cThe Deskmate,\u201d and \u201cThe High School Girl in the Class of Repeaters.\u201d In addition to the comedies set in schools numerous were the films in military barracks I remember \u201cThe Doctor at the Military District\u201d and \u201cThe Soldier at the Great Maneuvers\u201d where generally the military is presented as a bunch of horny guys ready to do anything to conquer the doctor or the beautiful girl on duty.<\/p>\n

After numerous films in which I had a supporting role here I acquire a leading role with the film of \u201cPierino vs. everybody.\u201d In this film I play a multi-repetitive elementary school student who spends his day playing pranks and uttering double-meaning jokes. A long series of other films will follow this film.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the occasion of the award ceremony, the exhibition \u201cAll the way down<\/strong>\u201d, by Loano photographer Alessandro Gimelli.<\/strong> An exhibition that taking its cue from trash culture offers a reflection on the state of culture.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe solo exhibition \u201cAll the Way Down,\u201d provocative from the title,\" the presentation reads, \"is only superficially appealing. Alexander Gimelli<\/strong> has been able to dress up an important message by undressing the backside. An exhibition with the layers of an onion that is for this reason transversal.\u201d<\/p>\n

The evening's admission is free. <\/strong><\/p>\n
