The Edelweiss Amateur Sports Association was founded in 2006 with the aim of popularizing the art of dance, the brainchild of Nadejda Nekrasova, a choreographer who graduated from the Moscow University of Art and Culture and a dancer who graduated from the Moscow Choreographic High School.
A.S.D. Edelweiss organizes classes in Classical Dance, Modern, Modern Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Dance, Character Dance with teacher Nadejda Nekasova and with the collaboration of qualified and certified teachers. The purpose of the association is to bring children closer to dance and introduce them to the world dance culture.
The association organizes dance-related events with the intention of offering enthusiasts the opportunity to compare and experience. For this reason, in April 2007, on the occasion of World Dance Day, the first edition of the Dance Festival “Promenade” was organized, now in its tenth edition. Still following the same motivations, other dance-related events have also sprung up over the years: including Joy Dance in Loano.
Finally, the association organizes the international dance project “Childred Ballet in Theatre” in cooperation with the Kuramshin Theatre School of Dance in St. Petersburg and several Italian schools. Through this project, students from amateur dance schools participate in the staging of a dance performance together with professionals. The project, which began in 2014, was repeated in 2016 with “The Nutcracker” produced with the collaboration of soloists from the Ukrainian Academy of Ballet - Milan (professional academy) and in 2017 with “Sleeping Beauty,” a performance that will also be on the bill of Joy Dance in Loano.{:}
