Raffaella Romagnolo In his fourth novel, he tells the story of family and the abyss of relationships, touching on painful issues in a profound way.
The story takes place over four days but sums up the entire life of a family unit. Page after page, we enter into the plot that orchestrates the lives of parents and children.

A Saturday evening like any other in a small town in the Italian countryside. The TV is tuned to a television show, the dishes are in the sink waiting to be washed. A sudden heart attack kills 70-year-old Pietro Polizzi, but Ines Banchero, his wife of over 40 years, does not do what is expected of her: she does not call for help, she does not notify friends and family, she does not worry about burying the man with whom she shared her life. Thus begins a journey into the life of a normal couple: a son, a daughter, a decent apartment, vacations by the sea, television, and puzzle magazines. But it is an imposed and false normality, which for forty-five years, for a lifetime, has hidden and silenced grudges, regrets, remorse, and trauma. And as death takes over day after day, the line between normality and madness becomes blurred.

Raffaella Romagnolo, born in Casale Monferrato in 1971, lives in Rocca Grimalda with her husband. She has written The city lover (Fratelli Frilli, 2007) and, for Piemme, The farmstead (which also became a play) and All this life (Peradotto Award finalist).
