Monday, June 1, a Loano, in Italy Square initiative will take placeSilent Tango, organized by the’A.S.D Tango School Liguria  in collaboration with Emotions Events and under the auspices of the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano.

From 9 p.m., in front of the Doria Palace passionate tangueros will gather to experience a pleasant evening of dancing, in religious silence. In fact, in the “silent tango” they will dance thanks to headphones and music transmitted via radio.

Tango is a dance built on three elements: embrace, slow step style and improvisation. And above all else, the dance translates into intense body language that conveys deep emotions.

The seduction dance dates back to the early twentieth century when European immigrants including Italians, Germans, and Spaniards arrived on the banks of the Rio de la Plata, mixing their cultures with those of local people and communities of African descent arriving from Central America. The music and dance are the result of a mixture of rhythms and melodies with a strong nostalgic and sentimental component. The characteristic instrument of the tango is the Bandoneon, an instrument that German emigrants brought in the early 20th century to Argentina, where it met with great success and was soon incorporated into the context of local music.
