Music, cabaret, great entertainment events for young and old, meetings with authors: Loano's summer will be full of events, promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano.

The program is renewed in the name of continuity, engaging the city with performances and animations that take into account the many tastes of tourists and residents.

Friday, June 23, a Loano, will get into the swing of summer events with a new edition of White night, the long entertainment marathon, which will keep everyone up late into the night with live music and tastings.

The party to greet the beginning of summer, sponsored by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano in collaboration with the’ASCOM Loano, will be enlivened by live music and DJ sets in the streets, squares and waterfront.

The city's businesses and venues will be a mainstay of the initiative with an extraordinary opening of businesses and original tasting stations.

The highlight of the evening will be the concert in Italy Square, announced at 10:30 pm, with the disruptive cult band Elio e le Storie Tese. After the “Yes We Can't” tour, which saw them perform in 12 European cities, EELST return to the Italian public, making a stop in Loano with a concert that combines rock, humor and improvisation resulting in an explosive cocktail.

From the hours 20.00, warming up the musical evening while waiting for the big concert will be the 16 music stations set up on the waterfront and downtown streets. And to satisfy the palate, there will be many stations street food With special menus and tastings.

Before the concert, Massimo Morini leader of Buio Pesto will present the awarding of the Blue Flag to the Marine Baths Union.

And it will be the Pesto Darkness, as is tradition to inaugurate Sunday, June 25 the Prince's Garden Summer Arena season. Liguria's most popular dialectal rock band will kick off from Loano at the’Anghezo Tour 2017. Also this year the Pesto Darkness have prepared a rich and unique show for their audience.

Heart of the summer events will again this year be the’Summer Arena Prince's Garden with Dreams Festival, a review curated by Event Size with the artistic direction of Ivan Fabio Perna, which will feature nationally prominent artists for whom presales are already open. On the big stage will take turns. Angelo Branduardi with Maurizio Fabrizio (July 1), Paul Migone (July 14), John Allevi (July 15), Ermal Meta (July 19), Edoardo Bennato (July 21), Vittorio Sgarbi (July 24), Freddie & The Queen e Katia Ricciarelli (Aug. 3), Paola Turci (Aug. 4), Fabrizio Moro (Aug. 5), Cristina d'Avena and the Gem Boy (Aug. 6), Rich & Poor (Aug. 9), Danilo Sacco (Aug. 11), Maurizio Lastrico (Aug. 12), Marco Masini (Aug. 16), Nicolo Fabi (Aug. 17), Antonio Ornano (Aug. 18), Massimo Ranieri (Sept. 5).

In the Prince's Garden summer, ample space will be given to programming for the children and families. From late June to early September, child-friendly theater performances and film screenings will be offered. The festival Family summer opened last Saturday with the first of three film screenings free (Sing). The review will continue on June 21 with “Oceania” (2016) CG animated film produced by Walt Disney Pictures and directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, and will close on the August 30 with the screening of “Finding Dory” (2016) animated film directed by Andrew Stanton, a sequel and spin-off of “Finding Nemo.”.

At the Prince's Garden, the film show will intertwine with the theater show. The Abba and Stante's Little Comedy Theater will be present with two appointments: “The Magic Trunk” (July 20) e “The Story Catchers.” (August 20). Theatrical performances with actors, puppets, shadows and wooden silhouette will be offered by the Theatre Workshop who will be on stage with “Revolt of the Ghosts.”(July 30)  e “The Wolf, the Hen, the Giant and the Witch.” (August 2). And finally, the company Theater in Fee will present “Greta, the Doll and the Birch Tree.” (August 7).

Initiatives dedicated to the whole family include the sand castle contest Budding Architects” (July 11) on Loano's beaches with the awards evening at the Prince's Garden (July 12) and the folk dance evening with The Gecko's Paranza (July 23).

From July 26 to 28, the sounds of tradition will be featured in the City of Loano National Award for Italian Traditional Music. For three days, popular music will take center stage with meetings with musicians and journalists and concerts. Also, on the evenings of the festival, the Best Album Award 2016, the Cultural Reality Award 2017 and the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award.

Also in the cultural sphere, there will be a renewal for summer 2017 of the I Culture Tuesday organized in collaboration with Event Size e Mondadori Bookstore Loano.

It will be the Prince's Garden to host the review every Tuesday, at 6 p.m. Conducting the meetings with the authors will be Graziella Frasca Gallo, accompanied by the musical notes performed by Maestro Roberto Sinito.

The review will kick off on July 4 with Alessandro Perissinotto (Piemme Fiction 2017) and his new novel “What the water hides.” that will take one back to Turin's 1970s, years of lead, and to a past that comes powerfully back to the surface.

L’July 11 guest of the literary event will be Cesare Bocci and Daniela Spada with “April Fools” Day" (Sperling & Kupfer, 2016). The actor and his partner will present the book written by four hands in which they recount the illness of Daniela, who suffered a stroke a few days after giving birth. Meetings with the author will continue on July 18 with Silvio Carrara Sutour which will present “Deliria de profundis”, a new collection of fantastic short stories whose proceeds from the sale will go to the Artemisia Gentileschi Association committed to helping women victims of violence. The July 25 Elsa Burastero together with the group Quelli du caruggiu will present the volume “Mosaic” published by the Pro Loco and the Municipality of Loano. The book collects memories and stories of Loano, a journey through time to discover local traditions and history. Proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to the Protected Residence A. Ramella.

L’Aug. 1 Alessandro Barbaglia will be at Loano to tell “The Inn of Last Solitude.” (Mondadori, 2017), his latest novel shortlisted for the Bancarella Prize, whose winner will be announced in July.

Alexander Defilippi will be the guest of the review the’August 8 with the noir novel “Women with black lipstick” (Einaudi, 2017). A new case for Colonel Anglesio who finds three lifeless young women in 1950s Genoa.

The August 22 will be presented “Black Comedy No. 1” (Sellerio, 2017) by Francesco Recami A brilliant and cynical novel. A satire of social mores in which the author reverses male and female stereotypes. The review Culture Tuesdays will close on August 29 with Matteo Bussola: “White nights, breakfast kisses” (Einaudi, 2016) the tale of moments of pure happiness, domestic scenes, and nighttime thoughts that reveal to the reader how fatherhood can be a precious gift when experienced with poetry and lots of irony.

In the’summer 2017 is also confirmed the music review “Finally Friday which in recent years has been highly acclaimed by the public.

To inaugurate the live music event - which will take place for all dates on the waterfront, in Maccagli Garden, to the 9 p.m. - will be the ironic cover band This time my wife sends me to Funk. (July 7). The review will continue with the Festival Project (July 14) concert that will retrace the most significant stages of the Sanremo Festival.

Thursday 20 e Friday, July 21, the concerts double with the presence of students from the  Vocal Camp Seminar curated by jazz singer and vocal coach Danila Satragno together with his staff Vocal Care. The evening of the 21st will feature a special guest from Elena Ballerini, host of Family High Noon. (RAI 2).

The August 4 the Latina Oasis Group will bring to life a rhythmic evening of entertainment and dance. L’August 11 the review will cross the Pink Night in which, in collaboration with the Savona Women's Phone, will present an engaging show featuring the most significant songs from the career of Paul Mc.Cartney. Another tribute night will be that of the August 18 with a tribute to Lucio Battisti. Double musical event for the August 25 when a concert by Mimmos and in Bagni Medusa the musical beach party.

The festival will close with a concert by the folk group U Gunbu de Löa Verzi, who will perform a wide repertoire dedicated to Italian folk songs.

Among the major events that will animate the city include the Carnevalöa Summer Edition (July 29) organized by the’Old Loano Association and the Basüe Festival (August 13) organized by the’Multipurpose Cultural Center Association Loano which will close with the fireworks (August 13).

Numerous events will be organized in cooperation with the loanese associations: the celebration of sports and entertainment “A Day for Us” (June 25) organized by the’Association Hakuna Matata, the evening Suddenly You (July 13) curated by the’Modern Jazz Dance Academy, the White Dinner (July 19), the Band Gathering “E. Garassini” (July 22) and the  Music in the Square (August 11) of the’S.M. Immaculate Music Association, the Occitan Dances (July 15, August 31) curated by the’Bala association in riva a u ma, Torches in the night (July 28) promoted by the Marine Baths Union, concerts in the’Oratory of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary (July 25, July 26, August 28, September 16 and 23) organized by the Brotherhood of the Blue Hats, the concerts of the’Association Loanese Music (July 14, July 26), i ligurian folk music concerts (Aug. 17, Sept. 1) with U Gunbu de Löa - Verzi, Miss Pro Loco (August 20) organized by the Pro Loco Loano e Miss Riviera of the Palms promoted by the’Old Loano Association.

Loano's summer will have no shortage of charity events benefiting voluntary associations. The civic school Attimo Danza, directed by Lorella Brondo, will tread the stage with the Dance Gala the July 5, in an evening to benefit the’ADMO. A parade of laughter 14 scheduled on August 10 will aim to raise funds for the’ADSO and the evening Loano and the voice of the sea for the Sea Museum (August 24).

Finally, the program of events of the 2017 beach season will be enriched by the review The big concerts Of the Marina Yacht Club Of Loano. Four concerts in all will be hosted by the picturesque setting of the Loano Marina, ranging from jazz by “Wayne Shorter and Ornette Coleman Songbook” (July 28) to the tango of “Vibratango - Homage to Astor Piazzolla.” (August 4), from the chamber music of the “Dohnányi String Trio” (August 11) at the Lyrical Recital “A Staircase Stage” (August 18).

In Kursaal Palace Throughout the summer you can visit the exhibition Loano for the sea. The central hall of the Kursaal palace will display the most significant pieces of the collection dedicated to seafaring in Loano and the province of Savona, which the Marinara Lodanum Cultural Association has preserved with great care in the small museum.

In addition, you can participate in the free “Le guided tours of Loano(July 11, 25, August 8) curated by the CTG Loano with an appendix devoted to the view of Albenga (July 18, Aug. 22).

Lo sports will be present in the Loano summer with international events, national competitions and regional meetings. Among this year's novelties is the anticipation at September of the’ International Fight Show (September 30) organized by the‘ASD Team Polizzano Perlungher.

The calendar of sports events will open with the Camp Volleyball (June 25/July 7) organized by A.S.D. St. Pius X Volleyball. From June 25 at’July 1 will take place the internship with the dance competition Joy Dance in Loano. The June 30 l’ASD Martial Arts Center will present the evening of martial arts Kung Fu Under the Stars.

It will then be renewed with the final round of the’European Summer Cups (June 30/July 1), organized by the Tennis Club Loano, European tennis championship valid for the designation of teams for the World Youth Championship. Also the Tennis Club will host the Tournament Limited 4.1 (July 7/16 and August 25/September 3), the Men's and Women's Open Singles Tournament (July 21/30), the August Bank Holiday Yellowjacket, Tennis tournament, doubles with draw, at night (August 11/16).

Not missing from the summer sports calendar will be the traditional national pairs bocce competition, Trophy “The Golden Palm - City of Loano” (August 5/6) and the Interregional Nocturnal Pairs Race. the August 17. Also in August will be held the Non-competitive 6-kilometer run (August 23) organized by the St. Pius X Parish and the Marina Classic (Aug. 26) 5-kilometer non-competitive running race open to all, organized by Run Riviera Run In collaboration with Marina of Loano.

September will give as is now tradition a very rich calendar of sporting events. From the’8 at September 10 starring will be basketball with the Over 40 Basketball Tournament organized by the‘ASD Finale Basketball Club.

The weekend September 16 and 17 will be dedicated to volleyball. The first edition of the Future Volleyball Tournament, national youth competition organized by the’ASD St. Pius X Volleyball Loano.

Basketball will return to the spotlight from the Sept. 22 to 24 with the eighth Rino Memorial Rigardo, a tournament organized by the‘ASD Basketball E. Garassini and the September 24 It will be cycling's turn with the eighth Gran Fondo Loabikers  of the’ASD Loabikers.
