Thursday, March 2 is scheduled, in Loano, A new hike for outdoor walking enthusiasts. The weekly destination of the program “Loano not only sea”, curated by the Loano section of the C.A.I.. under the auspices of the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Municipality of Loano, will be the Civezza - Torrazza loop route in the province of Imperia.

The meeting for participants is at 8:30 a.m. In the Valerga Square parking lot.

“The excursion will start with a visit and crossing of Civezza. - He explains. Beppe Peretti, CAI hiking companion of Loano - Having reached the central square and the Carrugiu Dritu, we will continue until we take a mule track that among olive trees and crops will take us to the “five Burche” pass (m 380), an important intersection of ancient interval mule tracks.

From the Cinque Burche you will descend and by a subsequent mule track down into the Prino valley. You will then reach the village of Torrazza, preceded by a 15th-century barbarian tower, the adjacent small church of San Martino and the Romanesque bridge of Clavi (13th cent.).

From the tower we will shortly reach Torrazza. Here we will visit historic center and the church of St. George, whose foundation dates back to the 11th century. Returning to the Barbaresque tower, in half an hour we will reach the chapel of N.S. delle Grazie, where we will break for lunch. We will return to the starting point by walking along quiet, secluded lanes through woods and olive groves. The hikes are free and practicable by those with a fair amount of mountain walking training.

For non-CAI members to participate in trips, accident and mountain rescue insurance is required, which must be requested by noon on the day before the activity is to be held by calling 019.67.23.66 or 349.78.54.220.
