At 9:30 pm, the play “(Un)tied” by and with Mattia Fabris, Jacopo Bicocchi, a theatrical adaptation of Joe Simpson's book “Touching the Void.”.
The show recounts one of the most famous and incredible mountain stories, the adventure of Simon Yates and Joe Simpson in the Peruvian Andes in 1985. It is the story of a miracle. Of an adventure beyond human limits. And it is also a metaphor: of relationships, all of them, and of bonds. Climbing the mountain becomes a metaphor for the moment when a relationship is pushed to its extreme limits, when the truth takes shape, corners you and forces you to ’cut“. To make that gesture that always seems so violent and terrible, but which, sometimes, is the only gesture necessary for the life of both. And this is exactly what happens in the story. The story gave rise to the famous bestseller ”La morte sospesa“ (Suspended Death), written by one of the two protagonists, and the documentary film of the same name. The show has already been performed more than 140 times in theaters and mountain locations (refuges, festivals, high-altitude municipalities, climbing gyms, CAI and SAT headquarters).
Free admission.
