A Loano have been greatly exceeded 150 thousand attendance of the Air Show two years ago. Thanks to a beautiful, warm, sunny day, the coast from Ceriale on the border with Finale Ligure was filled with thousands of people who admired the great spectacle of the’Air Show Loano 2016, organized by the’Aero Club Savona and the Ligurian Riviera, from the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano in collaboration with the’Clemente Panero International Airport of Villanova d'Albenga and the Coast Guard Loano.

Everyone looked up with bated breath to admire the spectacular maneuvers and acrobatics of the many aircraft that flew across the sky and the exciting grand finale entrusted to the National Aerobatic Patrol (PAN) who opened at Loano his 56th season.

From early morning, Loano was flooded with people: buses carrying members of the Frecce Tricolori fan club arrived, as did many families. The work of the organizing team, coordinated by Gen. Caesar Patrono, was challenging and saw the Aero Club of Savona and the Ligurian Riviera, led by Mauro G. Zunino, the tourism office, the technical office, and the municipal police of the municipality of Loano.

The crowd, which flocked to the beach, the promenade, and the scenic spots along the coast, was rewarded with a huge party atmosphere and breathtaking choreography.

Before the Frecce Tricolori performed in the skies above Loano, aircraft belonging to the Aero Club Savona team flew overhead, and professional and amateur pilots demonstrated their impressive aerobatic skills.

The performance of the 313th Aerobatic Training Group of the Italian Air Force enchanted the audience.

Thanks to the beautiful weather, the Frecce Tricolori were able to perform their most spectacular program with figures entirely on the vertical plane. Eighteen choreographed figures were drawn in the sky, the last of which colored it with the tricolor to the notes of Puccini's Turandot. The difficult passages of the soloist, the Ingauno, drew applause. Capt. Filippo Barbero, who delighted those present with maneuvers grazing the coast.

Traffic surveillance in the parking areas was provided by Civil Protection personnel and volunteers from numerous associations in Loano, coordinated by the Municipal Police Command of Loano. Officers from the Municipal Police forces of Albenga, Finale Ligure, Boissano, and Noli were also present.

The emergency medical service was provided by 118 with ambulances, and the sea rescue service was coordinated by the Savona Port Authority with the presence of Loano Coast Guard patrol boats. Security was ensured by the presence of the police.

The audience was able to follow live commentary of the event thanks to a sound system set up along the entire seafront. Those who preferred to watch the show from their balconies were able to follow the event on the frequency 101 by Radio Onda Ligure. The event was broadcast in live streaming by Mediagold Network.
