Saturday, May 14, a Loano, in the outdoor Olympic-size pool at the Sports Hall, the 22nd edition of the International Swimming Meeting City of Loano.
The sports event, organized by the Doria Swimming Club Loano with contributions from the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano and the sponsorship of FIN and CONI, will see some of the strongest young athletes at national and international level in the categories Rookies A (males years 2003 and 2004, females 2004 and 2005), Guys (males years 2000, 2001 and 2002, females 2002 and 2003) and Absolute (males over 1999, females over 2001), who will compete in the distances of the 50, 100, 200 e 400.
There were numerous participants in the pool, and attendance was up compared to last year. The There are 18 registered companies., for a total of 437 athletes and 1479 race attendance.
Among the Ligurian companies, the following stand out: Chiavari Swimming (with 6 athletes), the’Idea Sport SSD (with 28 athletes), the Nuotatori Genovesi SSD (with as many as 38 athletes), the Swimming Club Liguria (15 athletes) and the Rari Nantes Imperia (24 athletes), in addition, of course, to the hosts of the Doria Swimming Loano, With 22 athletes and 88 race appearances, it is the last club in the province of Savona to maintain all categories of athletes, after Amatori Nuoto merged with Andrea Doria with the “category” athletes and Idea Nuoto with Genoa with the beginners.
Among the teams from neighboring regions, the one that stands out is the Turin Swimming Center, a loyal participant in the event, with a team of 88 participants. Among its top athletes this year will be Alessandro Miressi, junior category 1998, reigning European Junior Vice-Champion in the 100 freestyle at the European Games in Baku in 2015, finalist in the Riccione Spring Championships in the 100 freestyle and, above all, winner of five gold medals at the Riccione Youth Criteria (100-200 freestyle, 4×100 medley, 4×100 freestyle, 4×200 freestyle), 1 silver (50 freestyle) and 3 bronze medals (50 and 200 butterfly, 100 backstroke), which earned him qualification for the upcoming European Junior Championships.
Among the winners of Italian titles category also stand out Matthew Senor, gold in the 200 freestyle, 4×100 medley and 4×100 and 4×200 freestyle, 2 silvers in the 100 and 400 freestyle, Stefano Saladini (also two bronze medals for him in the 100 and 200 breaststroke) and Edorardo Pasta e Alessandro Scarfò, gold in the 4×100 and 4×200 freestyle relays and the 4×100 medley relay.
Among women, Roberta Calò, winner of the cadet 50 breaststroke, and, along with teammates Rebecca De Rosa, Alice Cecchetto e Good morning Francesca of the mixed 4×100 m relay.
For the hosts of the Doria Swimming Loano there are to report Lucretia Sole e Victoria Vignolo, who participated in the Riccione Criteria with good placings and significant improvements, Nicolò Busso, Giada Vitale and Mariam Berro reached the podium in the winter category championships.

Saturday afternoon starting at 3 p.m. are scheduled: the 50 Men's and Women's Absolute 50 Butterfly, 50 Breaststroke Boys- Men's and Women's Absolute; 200 Mixed Beginners A- Boys- Men's and Women's Absolute; the 100 Backstroke Beginners A- Boys- Men's and Women's Absolute; the 100 Breaststroke Beginners A- Boys- Boys- Boys and Girls Absolute; the 200 Butterfly Beginners A- Boys- Boys- Boys and Girls Absolute; the 200 Style Beginners A- Boys- Boys- Boys and Girls Absolute to close the event with the 400 Mixed Men and Girls Absolute.
