Saturday, August 22, a Loano, the review Music and Song Theater, promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano, and organized by the I.So THeatre with the artistic direction of Luca Malvicini, will host the show “Under who touches”.
At 9:30 pm, in the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena will be staged the three actsof Luigi Orengo and Gilberto Govi. La La Valigia del Comico Theater Company. on the occasion of the 130th birth anniversary Of Liguria's greatest and best-known comedian, Gilberto Govi (Oct. 22, 1885), will present one of his most famous comedies with an original Italian-language staging.
“The choice of the Italian language," explains the director. Enrico Arestusi - does not betray the spirit of the play at all but, on the contrary, enhances it by making it usable to a much wider and more heterogeneous audience. This play is perhaps the most “choral” among Govi's repertoire, here the character of Bartolomeo (Govi) is one of many, he is not a mattatore but a character among well-defined characters, each with his “moments of glory.”.
The plot is familiar: Uncle Nicholas' rich inheritance that will accrue to whomever, among the Pittaluga cousins, first has a son, disrupts the lives of a Genoese middle-class family, creating hilarious situations that end with the classic surprise ending.
Orengo's text was enriched by Govi with jokes that have become historical and that the Genoese comedian also included in a famous record.
130 years after the birth of the great Gilberto we can approach these comedies with the necessary detachment and due respect, regenerating perhaps a repertoire that, is an important part of the history of Genoese theater.”
