Saturday, December 23, a Loano, Graziella Frasca Gallo and the Master Roberto Sinito will be the protagonists of the review Books under the tree, promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano in collaboration with the Mondadori Bookstore of Loano.

 At 4:30 p.m., in the Civic Library, the curator of the review Graziella Frasca Gallo will lead the audience through emotions and feelings, told in verse by famous authors and lesser-known poets.

The afternoon will open with the poem “The Shawms” by Giovanni Pascoli which will bring back memories of that ’poor man's organ” played at Christmas time by pipers. This will be followed by ”The Quiet After the Storm“ by Giacomo Leopardi, “The Lemons” by Eugene Montale, “The Christmas Wizard” by Gianni Rodari and “Je suis” by Daniela Prince.

A selection of aphorisms by great figures such as Pavese, franklin, mann, bukowski, mother teresa, gramsci will lead to the second part of the meeting dedicated especially to local authors. “Clouds over the Sea” and “Dream” will guide the audience into the poetic world of Katia. This will be followed by two poems by Pieralba Merlo (Radici, La via del sale) and two lyrics praising love (Lungo l'argine, Sola alla Marina) by Angela Merlo. The afternoon in verse will offer more food for thought with the aphorism “I choose to live” by Eileen Caddy and life advice from the U.S. writer Dorothy Law Nolte (“Children learn what they live”).

“The Holy Night” by Guido Gozzano will close the meeting by reminding everyone of childhood times and the joy of the arrival of Christmas.

The readings will be made even more intense by music and songs selected and performed by the guitar and voice of the Master Roberto Sinito.{:}
