Leading the meeting will be the curator of the review Graziella Frasca Gallo. Musical and singing accompaniment will be provided by the Master Roberto Sinito.

“It has now become a tradition for me to present a book for Christmas. - explains George Genta - Those who know me know that there are two strands to my stories: the somewhat fictionalized story of the ’Bel Paesello“ (Laudano, Laudanum, Loa, Loano whatever) and the theme of disability in the family.

My new book is dedicated to disability. It is a chronicle spanning the last 15 years. The fairly long title is a statement of intent: “Fighting Very Severe Disability with a Normal Life.” It is a battle that can be won, especially with regard to eliminating or mitigating the disability that is the social component of disability. The operation is costly in itself, especially in human energies and requires synergies among various actors: person with disabilities, his or her family, society as a whole but the results are often remarkable and here at Loano we have a very good example: “a sea of possibilities for people with disabilities” as the municipality's website mentions.

If I had to define this battle in a few words, I would choose the word resilience, that is, drawing strength from life's difficulties. Resilience is extended to all families with disabilities, at least those I know. Their experiences and positive outcomes are condensed in the stories in the book. There is much that is personal in the book. Some of the stories deal with travel. It is not that difficult to travel for people indeed for families with disabilities, it is just more tiring and maybe a little more expensive. You have to plan everything well, don't forget anything, especially the essentials and have a good spirit of adventure.’
