Synopsis
Love, the real kind, when it comes you know it. It takes you straight to the heart and head, and by that time it is already too late: time, distance, storms big and small, there is nothing left to stop it. And it is impossible to forget. Leonardo knows this well, who felt it burning on his skin and still can't shake the memories. He has had many women since Angela left, but none can hope to take his place. Love, now, Leonardo looks for it in the simple things: in the satisfied smiles of customers when he repairs their cars; in the music he listens to on his vintage Duetto or in evenings with lifelong friends. And then there is Laura, his seventeen-year-old daughter, increasingly beautiful but also terribly distant. She learns about love on the Internet, in the words of bloggers who know how to touch her heart as that silent father never could. If her mom ran away, they say, there must be a reason. Yeah, but what? And how to find out? The answer will be brought to her by fate, at the end of an astonishing journey, which for her will mean finding the courage to love, for Leonardo the strength to begin again. Because even the smallest gesture of love is a miracle, but that miracle must be desired together.
The review will continue on December 10 with the author Francis Carofiglio. The Apulian writer will present his latest novel “The Master”. A man and his loneliness, an equally lonely girl thirsting for knowledge, an apartment in the heart of Rome and a boundless love for Shakespeare and acting. These are the main ingredients of Carofiglio's novel published by Piemme.
George Genta, president of the Association DopoDomani Onlus will present the December 16 the book “Fighting very severe disability with an (almost) normal life”.
Genta will meet the audience to tell about his experience of resilience in the face of the difficulties that the world of disability experiences every day.
They will be Graziella Frasca Gallo and the Master Roberto Sinito (guitar and vocals) to bring to life the December 23 at the meeting of “Poetry and Music”. The most celebrated authors will be intertwined with lesser-known ones in a journey of emotion and feeling. The December 30 the review meets Marco Braico, author of the book “First Kiss Theorem” (2017, Piemme), a novel about school, teachers, boys, first loves and life's painful trials.
“Books Under the Tree.” will close on January 7 with the presentation of the noir “Un foot in two shoes” (2017, Rizzoli) by Bruno Morchio. After Bacci Pagano, Morchio returns with a new serial character to tell a different side of his Genoa. The author will meet the Loano audience to lead them into mysteries greater than those of crime: the secrets of psychology.{:}
