{:en}PRESS RELEASE (11/28/2017)
Thursday, November 30 is scheduled, in Loano, a new excursion for outdoor walking enthusiasts. The weekly destination of the program “Loano not only sea”, curated by the Loano section of the C.A.I.. under the auspices of the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Municipality of Loano, will be the Mount Ravinet (m 1061).
The meeting for participants will be at 8:30 a.m. In the Valerga Square parking lot.
“The starting point for this week's hike will be the parking lot before the Giovo hill in Toirano, at the entrance to the path to San Pietro. - He explains. Beppe Peretti, CAI hiking companion of Loano - From the curvone of the parking lot we will take the quiet dirt road of San Pietro, which with an undulating path through the woods will take us to Cian di Baretti, where the path heading to the ancient abbey begins. We will walk along it for a first stretch, and then take, near the Castagna fountain, a connecting little path that will take us up to Ca du Fò. Here we will enter a wider path, the so-called Napoleonic road, which, after a flat section, we will leave to climb, still among woods interspersed with sparse meadows, to the Ravinet glue and to finally reach the panoramic peak and the small cross of Mount Ravinet.
The descent will be from the opposite side of the ascent and, again by trail tracks, will take us to the nearby spectacular summit on which stands the abbey of San Pietro in Varatella.
Here we will have lunch on the tables and lawns surrounding the abbey.
From St. Peter we will return to the starting base first on a trail and then retracing the dirt road made on the way out.”
The excursion is free. For non-CAI members to participate in the outing, accident and mountain rescue insurance is required, which must be requested by noon on the day before the activity is to be held by calling 019.67.23.66 or 349.78.54.220.
