The protagonist of the story is Lisbeth, a girl who, unlike all the Lucenti, that is, the inhabitants of the City of Gold, does not have golden threads in her hair and does not know how to fly. Because of this, she is forced to leave, leaving her best friend André, with whom she is secretly in love, to go to school in the Wildlands, with some obnoxious classmates and an insufferable principal. She will have to get used to this different world, to people forcibly forcing her to do what she does not want, but, on the other hand, she will meet a great teacher: gym teacher Shila Connemara. What's more, a mysterious character will turn the story upside down....
The book will provide an opportunity for reflection with children on the themes of the’identity, of the’self-acceptance, of the difference as a value, of the’integration.
“Loano city reading - say the vice mayor Luca Lettieri and Councillor Remo Zaccaria - initiates a new project that aims to bring children and young people closer to reading through collaboration with Loano schools. The recognition in the cultural sphere that this year was awarded to our city by the Center for Books and Reading (Cepell) has been a further stimulus to strive to create a “Local Pact for Reading,” which increasingly ensures access to books by all citizens with a view to social growth. This is where the new initiative aimed at younger citizens fits in.”
