Synopsis
- The man sitting in the blue car is new to those parts, but Remo is not afraid; he does not know what a stranger is. The man holds in his hands a baby sparrow that has fallen from the nest, at least that's what he says, and asks Remo to help him take care of it. The child, seven years old spent almost all on the street, which parents have other thoughts, does not hesitate even for a moment. And up he goes. Three days later he is returned to his family, unharmed in body and soul; he tells of a blond, beautiful man who showered him with gifts and played with him as no adult had ever done. It is not the first time this has happened and it will not be the last. Thirty-two children in sixteen years. All held for three days by a man who tries to fulfill their wishes and return them to their families, happy. When the police begin to connect the flash abductions, the man disappears.
- Greta's father has never once been late to pick her up. But the dismay in the teacher's eyes makes him realize that something is wrong, because Greta never entered school. She thus disappears, Remo Polimanti's daughter, as he had disappeared 30 years earlier. She too is immediately returned to the family, but lifeless. Greta is but the initial stage in a trail of blood that connects the children of children kidnapped years earlier. But why did the “good” kidnapper turn into a murderer? Or perhaps there is someone who intends to emulate him. Or challenge him. Or punish him.
In a disturbing and haunting dance of shadows and light, Paola Barbato leads us all the way into our greatest fears, bleeding wounds that have never really healed.
