{:en}PRESS RELEASE (7/11/2017)

Loano not only sea” proposes for Thursday, November 9 a guided excursion to the Adelasia Fortress (m 698), organized by the Loano section of the C.A.I.. under the auspices of the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Municipality of Loano.

The meeting for participants will be at 8:30 a.m. in the Valerga Square parking lot at Loano, possibly with your own car.

“Starting point of this hike will be the parking lot at the entrance of Adelasia Park at the Miera farmstead. From here our trek will begin - explains Beppe Peretti, CAI hiking companion of Loano-which will develop within a beautiful beech forest with some specimens of ancient and monumental trees until reaching the Adelasia Fortress, which will offer a vast panorama of the surrounding mountains. From the Rocca you will continue downhill until you reach the grassy plateau of cascina Caramellina. From here we will ascend back into the beech forest to the Amore farmstead and continue along a climb that in about 45 minutes will take us to the highest point of the itinerary, the Chiappe hill (m 800). On the hill we will take a lunch break and then through a quiet walk with slight ups and downs in the beech forest we will return to the Miera farmstead.

Having resumed the cars, we will stop at the shrine of Our Lady of Mercy, in the locality called the Sanctuary: this site is really worth a stop, as it is one of the most important religious buildings in Liguria, erected in the first half of the 1500s in primitive Baroque forms and holds works of art inside.”

The excursion is free. For non-CAI members to participate in the outing, accident and mountain rescue insurance is required, which must be requested by noon on the day before the activity is to be held by calling 019.67.23.66 or 349.78.54.220.{:}
