Loano enters the great outdoor circuit by hosting Saturday, September 30 the PS1 - Karma Trail trial of the Enduro World Series (EWS) on one of the routes “Loano outdoor”.
L’Enduro World Series is the most prestigious circuit in the Enduro MTB discipline. It was born in 2013 and since its debut sees Finale as the final stage of the circuit, with the organization entrusted to the Polisportiva Finale Outdoor Resort.
“The territory of Loano," explain Councillor Remo Zaccaria and City Councilor Francis Paganelli - will be touched by the international sporting event on Thursday, Sept. 27 with the route trials and on Saturday, Sept. 30 with the race. The circuit will start from the summit of Mount Carmo and arrive in Verzi. Being part of the route of the last round of the Enduro World Series will give us great visibility. The event will be followed by the most important Italian and foreign newspapers of the sector, which will be present with their journalists during the event. Loano will also be present with a booth in the exhibition area of FLOW (Finale Ligure Outdoor Week) - EWS in Finale Ligure to promote mountain biking, trekking and bicycle touring trails. It will be an important showcase for the “Loano Outdoor” project, considering that last year athletes from 37 nations participated in the international competition. Finally, we would like to thank the associations and Civil Defense that will lend their services on the days of the trials for the smooth running of the race.”
Saturday, September 30, finished the trial the athletes will refreshment from the church of Verzi and immediately afterwards reach Giustenice to carry out PS2.
The project “Loano Outdoor” systematizes activities designed to increase tourist flows by expanding the area's offerings particularly during low season periods, focusing especially on trekking routes without forgetting bicycle and mountain bike routes.
100 kilometers of trails were monitored, and in cooperation with local associations, the following were defined 14 fitwalking trails e 3 for Mountain Bike. A App (Paper@web App) and the related Web geoportal for publishing tracks with the possibility of street view and guide support as well.
Signage with bilingual texts will be placed on the trails to help with orientation, and on the waterfront in Orto Maccagli, a billboard with all the routes and a QR Code has already been installed that will allow the routes to be downloaded. Finally, gymnastic equipment will be installed on one of the city routes that will allow for warm-up and training activities. The project will be completed within two years.
