Wednesday, September 27, a Loano, in the Protected Residence A. Ramella at 3:30 pm a festive afternoon dedicated to the facility's elderly guests, sponsored by the’Department of Social Services of the City of Loano.
The party will be an opportunity to present the book “Loano mosaic tiles” published by the Pro Loco of Loano with the sponsorship of the City of Loano.
The realization of the publication involved the participation, with different tasks, of several contributors, who were dedicated to the initiative and decided to allocate the proceeds from the sale of the book to benefit the “A. Ramella” Protected Residence.
The book, edited by Elisa Burastero tells, also with the help of pictures, the lives of Lovran characters and the big and small stories of the city's recent past.
The Quelli du Carugiu de Löa group, careful custodians of Lovran memories, have collected in the volume what has hitherto been entrusted only to memory and oral tradition.
In 281 pages are collected photographs and anecdotes of Lovran characters and corners of the city that shaped the history of Loano: Albergo Bel Sito, Bar Gelmo, Balli al Kursaal, Una Cartolina dal Fronte, Don Lanteri, Don Parodi, Cinema Teatro Municipale.”
And it is precisely the book that will be the main theme of the afternoon. Ramella's elderly guests will meet with their fellow residents and complete the work on memory and recollections begun in the afternoon workshops under the guidance of the geriatric animator.
It will be a time of celebration and sharing, graced by the voice of tenor Fortunato De Gregorio, who will offer his concert to the guests of the nursing home.
