Program variation for “Loano not only sea”, a program curated by the Loano section of the C.A.I.. under the auspices of the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano.
The field trip to the Rezzo Shrine scheduled for Thursday, September 14 will be replaced with hiking in the Barbottina forest to the Forest House (1171 m).
The meeting for participants will be at 8:30 a.m. In the Valerga Square parking lot at Loano.
Our walk - explains Beppe Peretti, CAI hiking guide of Loano - will begin in the cemetery area of Calizzano. From here we will soon plunge into dense woods along dirt tracks and trails. We will reach the Rocca del Lupo fortress and then the villages of Barozzo and Pianbello. The climb will continue: we will enter the beautiful forest of the Barbottina (one of the largest beech forests in Italy) and we will reach the dirt road on which the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri passes. On this dirt road we will find the arrival point of the hike: the Forestry House, a nice wooden structure flanked by a fountain and a picnic area, suitable for our lunch stop.”
The excursion is free. For non-CAI members to participate in the outing, accident and mountain rescue insurance is required, which must be requested by noon on the day before the activity is to be held by calling 019.67.23.66 or 349.78.54.220.
