Monday, September 11, a Loano, will kick off the festivities, sponsored by the Brotherhood of the White Disciples of St. John the Baptist under the auspices of the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano, for the religious anniversary of the Most Holy Name of Mary.
At 9:40 p.m., in fortress square, the concert of the’S.M. Immaculata Music Association of Loano. The repertoire of the Loano band corps, directed by the Master Davide Nari, will range from symphonic to modern genres.
They will be heard: On the Square by F. Panella, Aroldo, symphony by G. Verdi, Italian Polka by S. Rachmaninov, Horatii and Curiazi, symphony by D. Cimarosa, Call of Heroes by M. Geisler, Indiana Jones Selection by J. Williams, Postcard from Cuba by G. Gazzani and El Camino Real by A. Reed.
Tuesday, September 12, the Feast of the Most Holy Name of Mary will be celebrated in the’Oratory of the Whites. At 8 p.m. H.E. Msgr. Guglielmo Borghetti, Bishop of the Diocese of Albenga-Imperia, will officiate at the Mass.
This will be followed by the Procession through the city streets: the statue of Our Lady, adorned with flowers and lamps, will be carried in procession by the Brotherhood of Whites, along with the large processional Crucifixes, rich in decorative ornaments.
After walking the streets outside and inside the walls of Loano, the religious procession will stop in fortress square, where the blessing ceremony will take place.
Participating in the procession will be the’Santa Maria Immacolata Musical Association, the Band of Our Lady of Pontelungo in Albenga. and numerous Ligurian Confraternities with their artistic Crucifixes.
