{:en}PRESS RELEASE (4/09/2017)

Tuesday, September 5, a Loano, to the 9:30 pm will stage the last major event of the review DREAMS FESTIVAL, promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano and edited by Event Size, under the artistic direction of Ivan Fabio Perna.

Closing the artistic season of the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena will be the show with Massimo Ranieri: “I dream and wake...on the road”.

Liguria - says Massimo Ranieriis a wonderful region that has also seen me return several times in the year with all my shows. It is always a great thrill every time I return to the land of a great poet, which was Fabrizio De Andrè.

Conceived and written by Gualtiero Peirce and Massimo Ranieri the show “I dream and wake...on the road”, already in its playful and provocative title, is a hymn to life, love and hope. It continues the affectionate, spectacular and smiling journey through great songs, peculiar tales and theatrical twists. The protagonists, once again, will not be the winners or the exploits of heroes, but the dreamers and the lives of us all...

As in a caravan of the avant-garde, dear to the theatrical tradition from which he comes, Massimo Ranieri will bring humorous theater to the stage, alternating wonderful theatrical pieces with moments dedicated to great poetry and the most famous Neapolitan songs.

“In this show there are echoes of popular culture, which has influenced my artistic path enormously ... It is thanks to this popular culture that I am here at 53 years into my career! Thanks to my origins and having remained Neapolitan and Italian and in having thus been able to reject any twisting of Anglo-Saxon culture, as is too often the case in the music world today.

The tradition of Italian folk song - says Massimo Ranieri - is renewed through a path that seeks to “antiquarize” it and bring it back to its origins, emptying it of all the trappings that have been put on it in years past and perhaps in those to come. Here in “Perdere l'amore” I never wanted to change the initial three notes, and for the two macchiettas I religiously respected the way they were sung by that great Neapolitan artist Nino Taranto.”.

In the Loano evening there will be no shortage of musical novelties and theatrical surprises alongside his hits, offered with the formula that has won audiences all over Italy.
