A Loano, NICCOLÒ FABI will be the star of the rich season of musical events at the DREAMS FESTIVAL, promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano and edited by Event Size, under the artistic direction of Ivan Fabio Perna.
Thursday, August 17, to the 9:30 pm, will stop in the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena, “Becoming Inventive 1997 - 2017”, the tour with which Niccolò Fabi celebrates his 20-year career.
“Becoming Inventive 1997 - 2017” is not only a tour, but also a musical collection encompassing 20 years of songs. A link between past and present, full of great surprises, it takes its first steps from the very beginning: a rereading of “The Gardener”, single released by Niccolò Fabi in 1997 and taken from his eponymous first record.
Thus Niccolò Fabi comments on his socials, “[...] While escaping the modern dictatorship of numbers as much as I can, I wanted to warn you that I am about to capitulate in the face of the 20th anniversary celebration. After fifteen years of private songs my first record “The Gardener” was released in 1997, twenty years ago to be exact. I have always dribbled as well as I could medal hangings et similaria because I have always masochistically considered them an obstacle to improvement. But as a now middle-aged man I am learning to indulge in enjoyment. So let there be celebration. [...] So there will be a summer tour ending in November at a fest in my city. The venue is certainly bombastic and oversized for me: the PalaLottomatica, but as a Roman willy-nilly it is the symbolic place of all the most important concerts I have attended in my life. Diventi Inventi is also the tale of what a musician can become by continuing to invent for twenty years, the stubborn attempt to try to like himself. After the summer, therefore, some form of container with my “songbook” inside will be released. An inevitably somewhat anthological but I hope appetizing collection of what singer-songwriter Fabi and his creativity managed to do at the turn of the second and third millennium [...]”.
More than 80 songs, 8 records of unreleased songs, 1 official collection, 1 experimental project as a producer, 1 record of unreleased songs with the super band FabiSilvestriGazzè, 2 Tenco Targhe for “Best Record in Absolute” (won for his last two albums) Niccolò Fabi is today considered one of the most important Italian singer-songwriters. A lot of music in the singer-songwriter's path, a lot of experimentation and an increasingly evident approach to overseas music. It is an artistic path focused on the search for expressive freedom that the Roman singer-songwriter has pursued in recent years, and the most recent “A sum of small things”, which he himself called the record he always wanted to write.
Singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Niccolò Fabi over the years he has continued to work on the relationship between words and music both in performative terms with appointments within cultural festivals and in educational terms, he is currently a lecturer within the school Pierpaolo Pasolini Arts Workshop. Committed to social work, the singer-songwriter actively continues his collaboration with the NGO Doctors with Africa - Cuamm and recently co-wrote with geologist Mario Tozzi the show “Sustainable Music,” addressed to the understanding and dissemination of environmental issues, often forgotten.{:}
